About

David Almeida

I am a recently relocated Nashville-based photographer working primarily with museums, galleries, art fairs, artists, designers and private collectors. I focus on the high quality photography of artworks including sculpture, painting, decorative arts, prints and drawings, photographs, rare books and ephemera as well as architectural and exhibition installation photography. I accommodate all photography needs including publication, the web, insurance and appraisal, research, and preservation.

With over fifteen years of professional experience in the photography and museum sector and tens of thousands of images created, I am equipped with the appropriate set of skills to successfully meet any client request.  My formal training was in traditional analog photography with a focus on medium and large format. My professional experience has predominately consisted of digital photography using high-end digital equipment and software to create accurate, quality digital images. My proficiency in both formats allows for versatility in a range of projects and client needs. I also have extensive experience with photo editing and retouching which ensures the best results.

Clients have ranged from various private collectors, museums and art fairs in South Florida and Nashville, Tennessee, including Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, the Wolfsonian-FIU, CIFO, Cheekwood Estate and Gardens, Art in Embassies of the U.S. Department of State, and fairs that exhibit during Art Basel Miami Beach including Untitled and X Contemporary.  My work has been published in journals and magazines such as Architectural Digest, Hyperallergic, The Art Newspaper, Oud Holland, and in various publications for MoMA, Wolfsonian-FIU, and Vizcaya Museum and Gardens.
